“The Good Life”

Known for its amazing weather throughout the year, with a very mild and comfortable climate, San Diego has attracted many people and grown to a major metropolitan. San Diego residents are attracted to the “good life” of San Diego’s beautiful waterfront, wonderful venues throughout the city, and no shortage of outdoor activities. San Diego is not too far from Los Angeles, only about 100 miles to the south, and very close to the border with Mexico with proximity to mountain ranges and water. With a population of roughly 1.4 million people (as of 2013), the city has emerged as a notable U.S. DMA with a wealthy demographic with disposable income–and on the move being exposed to outdoor billboard advertising.

The city is also becoming well-known for advances in healthcare, as well as innovations in biotechnology: the University of California San Diego (UCSD) has a state-of-the-art medical center, known as a beacon of technology and innovation in the biotechnology field. Manufacturing, international trade, and research are spurring additional development in San Diego.

The United States Navy presence in San Diego represents the biggest fleet in the world, and this has a definite impact on San Diego’s economy–which is largely dependent on DoD contracts.
